Having grown up with a father as a great painter, my siblings and I were exposed his art community, museums and his craft. We all enjoyed the creative process mostly for pleasure. Only after college and working as an engineer had I started to explore painting in oils. I was drawn to both life figure drawings and oils, taking some evening classes and painting in the corner of my apartment. I humbly have limited training in the arts, but made up for it by years of practice, study and critique have helped hone my ability to tell stories through painting.
Later, I was blessed by fatherhood which became my priority, as it was with my father. Fortunately I am regaining time and space to paint, and by a burning motivation from current social/political events.
My name is Michael Wei (he/him), and this is my curated collection of images, passages, and thoughts.
