Trying Too Hard or Not Enough

Personal improvement and being a student for life is both inspiring and humbling.

My goal is not to be the best, but to do my best and always be curious. I have too many passion projects that prevents me beyond being focused, but there are 24 hours in a day and sleep is for the weak (j/k).

I am in my late 50’s and my hobbies are a luxury.

  • I have been a student of bonsai for the last two years.

  • Concurrently, I picked up acoustic & electric guitar with more interest than in years past.

  • I hope to advance to play amongst friends, my favorite alt-folk tunes, and possibly write a few songs from a father’s perspective.

  • My interest in pottery runs parallel to bonsai, as I hope to enhance my developing bonsai when they are show ready.

  • I will return to oil painting, as the mood strikes.

  • I live vicariously (if not too much of a helicopter booster parent) through my teen’s aspirations.

  • Domestika and other online content piques my interest in documentary film-making, print-making, and furniture design.
