Surely Spring
March 25, 2024
Tridents & Japanese Maples all awake and leafed and most repotted
Birch pruned and repotted and leading out and back-budding
Larch reported and awake
Plum Ume leafed out on one major branch, but a number of opposing branches may be dead
Older Korean Hornbeam is budding slowly, as of March 25–not leafed out
Fertilizing and repotted most for trunk growth—comparing Perlite to organic in larger pots, and some pond baskets with inorganic soil.
Yamadori
oak hardwood cutting look poor, though they were a long-shot.
Redwood hardwood cuttings are mixed or lower branches shaded out.
One Douglas Fir looking weak, unfortunate
Wish to fertilize them but too low for solid balls (with our dog).
Cuttings from 2023
Red Pine Seedlings
Cute little oak sprout, forgotten under my bench. Time to repot. Apr 6.

Some of my wounded soldiers
Douglas Fir Yamadori, less color
