🎸 First 6-string

I don’t recall exactly, but I had the time and interest to learning the guitar to play worship music or to play with others at my church. Vineyard music was a great inspiration and later at the Highway Community was moved by Kevin M & Steve J as worship leaders.

I discovered Larivee Guitars, then from Vancouver, Canada. (They later moved to California). This was around 1990.

The guitar is solid wood. It has mahogany back and sides, a spruce top, and an ebony fretboard.

It is a modest, warm but full sounding acoustic. Always stayed in tune, sadly never played much. I took some lessons from Steve J, and printed chord sheets and self taught—prior to YouTube access or popularity for streaming lessons. It was a bit big, as a dreadnaught, so did not get out of its hard case much over the decades. I will return to this and not sell it. Likely pass it on to my kids. The value at least doubled, but the labeling and provenance (other than being the original owner) is hard to trace.
