• Cut the chunk at the widest point and score the bottom about a half inch around and apply rooting hormone.

• Then put 3 screws in a triangle pattern into the base to use for wire tie downs.

• I put them directly into a coarse mix of usually lava and pumice.

• Most importantly, I put down a layer of shredded sphagnum around the base to retain moisture while rooting.

• I usually put them under some shade cloth until they start budding out then transfer to full sun and start feeding them heavy.
