Trident Maple, #2406
Acer Trident Maple in a lovely pot, for $50 at a Woodside home sale on Feb 2024. Said to be a Japanese Maple with decent taper and developed branching, it was dormant and awoke as a Trident in spring.

Remove that tree from that pot once it goes dormant, the shape of the pot will prevent it from being removed later.

See if these new buds become branches in spring, then prune above them. Will die back to the buds. Clean up the pruning after.
