One does not have a favorite child. But a bonsai student will often build a collection of affordable or young material that may not be balanced for development or appreciation. I wanted to review my current collection (summer 2023), if it helps to redirect my collecting. I can appreciate, if not benefit from, that trees leave one’s bench to create space or to focus on more favored trees.
